Company goes from strength to strength!
Mayfair Security is based in Selby, North Yorkshire and was formed in 1986 by Chris and Mary Burton. From its humble beginnings now employs over 60 members of staff and provides its customers with affordable security solutions in the residential, commercial and business sectors throughout the North of England.
Chris Burton who is the Managing Director said “ Integrity and trust, together with honest hard work are the vital ingredients of any successful security company, every member of Mayfair Security has worked hard over the years to gain the respect and trust of our customers and this has resulted in the company achieving an enviable reputation in the industry for customer care, professionalism and quality in all aspects of our work”. The company also prides itself on the excellent security working partnerships it has developed over the years with the many local authorities, utilities and organisations, which it is involved with and believes these partnerships, contribute significantly in reducing the fear of crime across our region and developing public confidence in the security industry.
Mayfair Security aims to continually strive to exceed its customers expectations in quality and reliability and to underline this commitment has developed a Quality Management system ISO 9001:2000 and has achieved national recognition as a NSI Gold Approved Installer of Intruder Alarm Systems, CCTV Systems, Access Control Systems and Key Holding Services. The company also owns and operates a prestigious NSI Gold Approved security and calls handling control room called First County Monitoring, which is also based in Selby.2007 has seen a number of very important changes for the company. In February 2007 the company launched its exciting new venture called Mayfair Careline, which provides much needed care, support and 24 hour monitoring services to the elderly and vulnerable people in our region. This service has been a great success and has now been extended to meet the demands for security key holding and security patrol services.
The company now employs Careline Officers who are available 24 hours a day, these are highly trained and motivated Officers and are licensed by the SIA, (Security Industry Association).In April 2007 Chris and Mary, (with age creeping up on them), decided it was time to look to the long-term stability of the company and introduce young and enthusiastic people and ideas into the future business planning. New members were introduced onto the Board of Directors. These included Chris and Mary’s daughter, Angela, her husband Neil and three long suffering and loyal managers who had shown total commitment for many years. The company’s web site shows all the new management team.
In November 2007 the ‘new management team’ with its combined experience and determination saw Mayfair Security achieve recognition by the SIA for the high standards of keyholding services provided to its clients and was awarded Approved Contractor Status (ACS). Chris Burton said “The entire company is delighted at this award which is the result of the total commitment and hard work of each and every Director and staff member and it is they who must take the credit for this excellent achievement. The best asset of Mayfair Security is the staff who work in it, and they are the best any company could wish for.”
Chris also revealed the company’s business plan for 2008 was to “go from strength to strength in further developing and expanding all the quality services provided. The New Year will see Mayfair Careline further develop the ACS accreditation to include manned guarding services and security patrols. The industry demands resulting from the recent Fire legislation will also see the development of ‘Mayfair Fire Division’ and February 2008 will see the opening of a new prestigious training and conference facility called ‘The Monty Centre’ which will be located at the company’s head offices at Adelaide House, Selby”.
Chris is full of praise for the workforce when it comes to the company’s success but he is quick to point out that:
