Business Development Report by Chris Burton - CEO

In December 2007 I presented a Mission Statement to our customers which identified amongst other things my hopes and aspiration for the company’s future.

Two years further on and I consider it an appropriate time to look back over the past 2 years and report to you on how we have performed.

It produces a sense of immense pride for me to see the hard work and commitment we have applied rewarded by significant achievements, so it is with that sense of pride that I can report 2009 has been a great year for our company and our entire workforce. Customer focus, hard work and dedication has been rewarded by success, growth and economic stability.

Against the background news surrounding the collapse of banking systems, global economic crisis and rising unemployment, Mayfair Security has continued to focus hard on building and developing commercial strength and integrity. These qualities have become such important cornerstones in these uncertain times and have resulted in a further growth of confidence from our customers, commercial partners and stakeholders.

During the past 2 years the company has demonstrated a determination to encourage and introduce new initiatives. This has ensured the future prosperity and job security that we all currently enjoy.

Our vision for the future has always been clear. This has seen an expansion in our workforce with new training programmes introduced aimed at broadening our skills to address the new demands placed upon us by changes in the economic climate and the ever changing demands of the community and commerce.

Once again I must look to each member of staff and thank them for the hard work and dedication which they have given in contributing towards their company’s success and for embracing the new areas of work and technologies which we have embarked upon.

The welfare and consideration shown towards our staff has always featured high on our list of priorities. This ethos has been fully justified by the achievements we have seen and I find it deeply rewarding to be part of such a great team of people.

Many have visited our web pages over the years and through this media we hope we have demonstrated our readiness to respond to our customers requirements. Not only by telling them what we can do and how we can do it but also by keeping people updated on what is happening behind the scenes.

I would like everyone to continue sharing in our news and provide us with their views and opinions on our performance, so please keep visiting our site in the future.

You may have seen on our website information about recent changes in our management team. These changes have introduced fresh young enthusiasm and a new generation of ideas and thinking into our company. These qualities I believe are essential ingredients in any management team, especially in these testing times.

These changes have enabled the company to expand into new and exciting areas of work and resulted in further investment and development of our own infrastructure. This has enabled us to ‘raise the bar’ on quality and to set higher standards for other organisations to aspire to.

Investments in our workforce and leading edge technology have enabled Mayfair Security to extend its position as market leaders in our industry.

In addition to our important commercial successes, I am also pleased to report Mayfair has continued to contribute back into the community that supports us. This has been achieved by supporting exciting community projects and providing much needed sponsorship funding.

Our control centre teams recently worked alongside the BBC in making a DVD to help young people overcome drink and drug related problems. The DVD can be viewed on our website or by visiting: vimeo.com/6141327 we have also continued our sponsorship support of local community groups, charities and local events with our most recent sponsorship contribution to York City Knights Rugby Club.

Mayfair Security now provides a wide range of specialist integrated security services designed to support the community, industry and commerce and provides a valuable contribution in reducing the fear of crime in our communities by developing a safer environment.
